Classroom Performance System
Interaction in the classroom is essential to improving student learning, and using the Classroom Performance System (CPS) technology is one way to promote interactivity. The CPS system consists of student-operated remote controls and a receiver that records student answers to multiple-choice questions posed by the instructor. Several Engineering faculty are already using CPS and based on their experience, the FIC is poised to help others experiment with these devices.
Spring Sign-up for the Classroom Performance System
If you're interested in using the CPS for your classes in the Spring, please contact David Dinh at dinhdt@engr.utexas.edu or 232-2356. Because resources are limited, availability is on a first come, first serve basis.
Introduction to CPS Tuesday, January 13th at 2pm
If you aren't familiar with CPS but want to add interactivity and accountability to your classes, attend the FIC's Introduction to CPS session on Tuesday, January 13th at 2:00pm in ETC 2.146. Please RSVP to David Dinh at dinhdt@engr.utexas.edu or 232-2356. If you can't attend this session, Justin will happily meet with you whenever you'd like.
Copernicus is Complete!
CPS is better than ever with Copernicus, the online CPS review tool that the FIC built and tested (with generous help from Dr. Siegel and his students) this Fall.
Copernicus lets students and instructors review data from all their CPS-enabled classes. Get a quick overview of how well your students are comprehending subject matter or zoom in on a particular student's records. Students can review CPS questions asked in class, and you can easily monitor attendance and participation.
