Vision Plan Funding Develops FIC Distance Learning Classroom for 21st Century
Thanks to generous funding from the College of Engineering's Vision Plan Fund, the Faculty Innovation Center was able to upgrade ETC 5.148 to better serve students and faculty.
Interior redesign work enhances the quality of video captured for online distribution. Students viewing video and multimedia content in class will appreciate the two new 40-inch plasma monitors that provide high-resolution display to improve visibility. ETC 5.148 is capable of videoconferencing, online lecture distribution or taped lecture distribution.

Project Spotlight: Grant Development through the FIC
From grant writing to media production, the FIC can help you create technology-based instructional enhancements. This year Dr. Sheldon Landsberger of the Mechanical Engineering Department was awarded the Academic Development Award to develop interactive teaching tools. Co-written with FIC manager, Dr. Kathy Schmidt, the grant provides funding for student workers to develop animated presentations that illustrate nuclear radiation concepts. If you would like to demo the animations, please click on the following images.
